Shocking Pictures at a Daycare

Friends, please go to this link: http://lakaranhatii.blogspot.com/2011/01/taska-kurang-ajar.html

I feel really, really strongly about this topic. Cases of SIDs all over the country (the world) is really making me feel worried and sad. More ever since I got pregnant. Please help to spread the word and awareness. And if any of you can help to contact the media regarding this matter please do so.

I’m pretty sure this is not an isolated case. I strongly believe that a lot of day care centers are doing this. This is not even talking about the food that they prepare for the children. The cleanliness of the place. The ratio of caretaker to kids. I sincerely hope the agencies responsible to monitor and oversee day care centers are doing their job to the best they could!

Let’s stop the death of our children!

You are Beautiful, Dark Skinned Woman!

A pretty girl looks out the window from her second floor hotel room. She sees another pretty girl coming out from a chauffer driven car. She recognises the girl as one of the local celebrities. Reporters and photographers are crowding the famous girl as she walks into the hotel lobby. Pretty girl suddenly had an idea and quickly dresses to the nines. As the celebrity comes up the stairs, the pretty girl descends it. All the reporters and photographers attention is switched to the pretty girl. Even the celebrity stops in the middle of her ascend and stares at the pretty girl. Everyone looks mesmerised by the pretty girl. Pretty girl smiles with a satisfied smug on her face.

That is a cramped version of Lux’s latest advertisement to promote their shower cream; Lux White Impress. In a nutshell, everyone is in awe looking at the FAIR pretty girl including the tanned celebrity.

Advertisement like this is very popular in our country. Probably all Asian countries. Ironically, original Asians are not fair, milky white skinned people. They will be a little yellow or a little brown. Except maybe Japanese. Anyway, let’s talk about Malaysians. UNLESS you have mixed blood from Arabic bloodline or other pale skin genes, you would be less fair. A little hint of yellow or just brown.

I personally feel that ads like this is ridiculous, demeaning and insulting. Ridiculous, because our country is a melting pot of cultures and people. Demeaning, because there should not be double standard because of our skin colour. Insulting, because whether we are brown or pale or yellow or black, we are beautiful creations of God.

When children see ads like these, what kind of message are we giving to them? The fair skinned will feel they are superior in the looks department and the dark skinned ones will feel deprived. Name callings will start. And they grow up having a set of belief that does not promote harmony.

Let me tell you a story of my own experience.

When I was in primary school, I beat up a boy because he called me “hitam” (black). Yes, you read it right the first time. His mother knows mine. And after that incident, she never talks to my mother again. I wonder why. When I was in secondary school, I started to learn what inferiority is. Just because, being fair skinned was considered (still is) more beautiful. I did not know then how strong this belief will later affect my confidence and romantic relationships. Suffice to say, it scarred me and only in my mid 20s that I managed to take control and love myself thoroughly. I still have relapsed moment once in a while, because the feeling never really leave you. But I’m lucky, because now I have someone who really loves me for who I am… (ehem…)

So, again, I ask you. What kind of messages are we giving to our young ones?

I don’t know about you. But I am disturbed by this phenomenon. Do you know that in India, the parents actually said that it’s better to be dead (or something like that) than to have a dark skinned daughter? How bizarre is that, when their gene pool does not really allow their generation to be anything else unless they have albino trait! They associate fair skin with beauty and success.

Surprisingly, the most affected by this belief and social standard are women. Sad, but true. So, dark skinned women are socially pressured and we ended up buying those beauty products that promise us fairer skin in 4 weeks! How much do you think we can mutate our cells?

And to be more bizarre, I have fair skinned friends who absolutely belief that they are dark skinned! And they buy whitening products too! Unbelievable! But true.

So there you go. Malaysians are COLOURIST! We are so backward thinking that skin colour becomes an overlooked issue. I personally feel that advertisers that is creating such demeaning advertisement should be sued. And the products companies? They also should be sued for false advertising which resulting in false expectation.

This is such a long post. I just hope someone will read it, and see it as a REAL issue. It’s not healthy making people inferior. Just because we have something which is God-given. And to all tanned women out there who are still feeling small, chin up girls. Truth be told, coloured skin is beautiful. As a a good friend commented before; it adds character to the owner. And trust me when I say that if a man looks down to you because you’re not fair skinned, he is NOT worth even a second of your thoughts. Move on because you are worth so much more than him. Seriously.

Child On Board!

No, I am NOT pregnant.

I am referring to the bumper sticker people. You may notice as you drive lots of vehicles carry something similar to the above sticker. They publicly claim they have kids in their vehicles. As such, the stickers serve as a reminder for motorists to drive carefully and safely when the "stickered" vehicle is in vicinity.

However, have you also noticed how the drivers of these "stickered" vehicles drive? A lot of them conveniently forget that they have their vehicle "stickered" with the notification. I am sure they notice their kid(s) on the back seat. They just resume their "normal" driving style they use when the kid(s) is not on board.

It's unsettling. It's worrying. Are parents these days so full of themselves that they conveniently ignore the amanah that God has bestowed upon them. I hope when the time comes, I will not be one of them. This is not only for the children's safety, but also for their moral development. Kids are very observant. They see how we drive and how we act on the road. If they see us swerving in front of another vehicle, not giving indicator lights and running red lights, they will grow up thinking it is okay to break the rules or cause misery on other people on the road.

I, myself, has a long way to go to revert back to my calm self years ago. Those years, I was so calm on the road. I did not swear at all, even a small "sh*t". None. But after a couple of years feeling bullied, it changed. So now, I need to go back to the calm and well behaved Jade, because every word I utter will affect the kid. (No, I am not pregnant). So, I am grateful to The Almighty God, for giving me this kid-free time to readjust myself, which I hope will be a better me when bringing up a mini Jade.

So, let's all stand together and be a better driver. Not just for safety reason, but also for children with healthier mind and soul development. Shall we?

The First Class People

My office is just a stone throw from one of those expensive condos in KL. The tenants there are rich local people and expats. They drive big expensive cars with their big expensive sunglasses. I am absolutely positive that they use branded handbags and wallets as well as top notch designer labels on their shirts and dresses.

One would call them those high class, first class people.

Throughout my tenure with the current company, I park my car at a nearby privately managed carpark. They charge me either RM7 on normal days or RM10 if there is even going on at the Convention Centre. So, yeah, I pass by this particular expensive condo everyday, morning and evening.

You notice from the picture (taken from the site shown) there is a pavement in the middle of the road that separates the opposite traffic and creating sort of a three-branch junction. There is no U-turn sign anywhere and if you're coming out from the expensive condo, you have to turn left.

What I have observed these past couple of years are these:
  • Big expensive cars making U-turn to go into the condo from the right-hand side of the road
  • Big expensive cars turning left to get out from the condo, either crossing the pavement or just using a tidal wave action
The pavement at some parts is broken to pieces. Even when the DBKL is doing some gardening work on the plants (located in the middle of the pavement) they park their lorry on the pavement.

So what has got this to say about Malaysia? If our own DBKL is performing an act which is totally wrong, how can we expect those "first class people" living in the expensive condo to observe the correct traffic rule? Even the European expats who must be following strict rules back in their home country find no problem on driving on the pavement.

What I am trying to say is that, if our own people is doing the wrong things and not taking the action to preserve our own facilities and environment, not taking good care of them, how can we expect outsiders to do the same?

I love my country, I love this town I'm living in. Frankly, as much as I like walking on Paris streets or Dam Square of Amsterdam or the cleanliness of Singapore (that pretty much cover my international destinations... har har har) I still prefer to be here, in Kuala Lumpur. It pains me to see these people who have no respect towards the beauty of the city.

I have to say, everytime I come across these first class people doing what I listed above, I don't smile if our eyes meet. What makes me more upset is when they look as if they have every right to do what they are doing.

Where is the proper authority on this? Why are they not doing anything to stop the misbehaving conduct? And let's not start about the illegal parking in front of the office building. These big expensive cars parked there sometimes with the driver waiting inside. Haih...

Facebook oh Facebook!

Recently, I saw some of my contacts in FB joining a certain group which is hating a certain individual. This individual apparently has put up a status update in FB claiming a certain people from a certain state in Malaysia (man! it is so difficult to talk/write/think in cryptic!) is not of a good manners. This individual used vulgar words on the status update which could be read by the masses! It sparked an outrage from the said state, they banded up together (and sadly use vulgar words in return) to demand apology from the individual. Last I checked, the individual has not apologise for the statement made.

Firstly, what a stupid way to vent out your frustration. You have your real name there together with pictures including that of your parents and family members. Don't you know that nothing is private on the net?

Secondly, how embarrassing that such person for such stature could go so low when expressing feelings and anger. The anger might be justified, but the words, certainly not.

Thirdly, if you're brave enough to make such statement, be brave enough to admit your fault and apologise.

And to the people of the state who are being so united in asking for justice, I applaud your cause. However, it's sad to see that some of them went to the individual level just to prove a point. Be smarter in voicing your opinion, people. And believe me, most of us are with you in this situation. I, myself, has personal interest in it because of circumstances. So, in your quest to be heard, be respectful of others.

-----------------------------
The Quest to be Heard

Modern Malaysians, most specifically in this case, modern Malays are beginning to forget their beginnings. As much as I support freedom of speech and being open-minded as well as straight forward, I don't applaud the actions of being rude. As much as some of us want to believe that monarchy is no longer irrelevant, truthfully, it is more relevant than ever.

As the new generation gets carried away with the highways of the new millennium lifestyle, we slowly close our hearts to our origins. Well, the monarchs are partly to be blamed because they seemed so far fetched from the people, thus giving the wrong impression. Let's not air dirty laundries by talking about morality and faiths, because a monarch is still only human. What I would like to point out is merely human-to-human contact between the blue blooded with the race of the world.

It does not mean because you're a royalty you're better than the rest of the people. It just means that you have more responsibilities to answer to. And to the rest, just because we know they are just human like us, it does not mean we can be disrespectful. Tulah or daulat might not be around (that much) anymore, but that is not an excuse to be rude. This people have families too, just like us.

So, in the quest of being heard, I believe we should stay true to ourselves and our origins besides being civilised and classy while shouting.

Old News

I've only got the chance to actually watch what happened during the recent VMA 2009; you know, when Kanye West (idiot) hijacked Taylor Swift's moment... I don't really follow the industry's gossips, but I (like billions others) am surprised something like this could happen. It's not important really, coz it has no impact on my life. Ha ha ha... Just thought of sharing it with you.

Whether the act was staged or it happened out of MTV's control, we can never know, right? It's show biz. Anyway, Beyonce, she's good. I mean, if this isn't staged, the world still have some hope of peace if more people with this same sensitivity are around.

The Rings Story

We wanted something different for the wedding... Well... I wanted. Men, they just go with whatever their women feel happy about, right?

So, there's this jewelry shop in my office building, that takes up orders for customised rings. Naturally, I designed a pair for us. So, we went to see the manager. He was all "of course it can be done!", "I will do it nicely for you, don't worry". "It will be very nice!". Nice guy. He said, the rings will be ready in two weeks time.

Two weeks later, I went to check the rings. I did not plan to pick them up yet, just you know, want to see it first. They were not ready. So he asked me to come back end of the week. I went on Friday, still no. So, it went on until almost two months have passed.

Last week, Wednesday, when I came the rings were not in the shop yet. But they say that they will send it in the evening. So I waited. Throughout the weeks of waiting, they had never call me up to let me know on the progress. I had to go to the shop again and again.

Evening, came and I saw the rings. I was so upset I did not have any words to say except, "These are not what we ordered..." I called up CapalPerak and we agreed that we should just ask our deposit back, since we wasted too much time with these people already. They couldn't give me the money there and then, their manager will need to talk to me.

So, when the manager called the next day, obviously he had pieces of my mind. He did not even say sorry for making the mistake. And he had the neck to said that if we want our deposit back, he will take a percentage for the bank charges since we paid the deposit by card. The nerve of the man! I did not agree, so I asked him to call up CapalPerak.

Apparently he called this morning, days after our conversation. And he had a fight with CapalPerak. Still, he did not apologise. He even threatened not to give the money back because CapalPerak was impolite to him, he said. Boleh tak?? Bengong.

So today, I went to collect back the deposit, minus the bank charges. CapalPerak agreed to give it because he said we've wasted too much time with this. The manager was not in the shop when I was there. And since it's already Ramadhan, I did not have the nafs to complain and fight. Besides, I don't want the staff to be the receiving end since it's not their fault.

The shop's name is Joyeria Kohinoor Sdn Bhd. I'm not saying you should not go to this shop, because I do like some of their works. It's a pity that I had a bad experience. In fact, I did plan to ask them to do a simple bracelet for me. But because of what happened, I'm just... numb.

We went to several shops to look for our wedding rings. But I just don't have the drive. None of the rings are calling at me. Well, there's still time, right? Maybe, who knows, along the way, we'll find something we like. At the moment, I'm just less animated about rings.

Any suggestions?

Where have the sanity gone?

Look at the picture above. Beautiful scenery, isn't it? It's not computer generated. It'll be too bad and sad should this picturesque location is turned into a war zone. The blue lake becomes copperish because blood was spilled. The mountains become skewered as a result of bombing. The trees, green green trees are just not there anymore... Sad, isn't it?

This picture was taken at Heaven Lake, Tianshan Mountains, Urumqi, China.

It's sad to know that Muslims are being oppressed wherever they are, especially when they are the minorities. It's sad to hear that when they fight for their rights, the world labels them as terrorists. It's sad, so sad. They are humans, just like the rest of us. They are woman, children, man, young and old, doing their best to live their life, their precious life, bestowed upon them by The Almighty, the best they could until the day they meet their maker. Just like the rest of us.

The Uighurs used to be the majority in Urumqi. But in the last 20 years or so, the number of Hans are increasing rapidly. And now, the Hans are being volatile against the original settlers. Isn't this situation makes you think about another region on the other side of the continent?

If people in a country could live for thousands of years without fighting, sans killing and murdering, why is it that now, people like to end the lives of other people who are different from them? Weird isn't it? There must be a conspiracy somewhere, a hidden movement that is being a catalyst for these insanities and illogical wars. And the people who generates the energy to move this secret society, are probably mentally disturbed, their soul polluted.

How much more innocent blood should be spilled? How many more orphans should be created? How many more helpless widows should be screaming? Before these retarded people will stop the mayhem and unrest?

Have some mercy. Put yourselves in their shoes. What if your country is being invaded? What if it's you're wives or husbands or children are being killed? What if it's your brothers and fathers who are slaughtered? What if it's you who are raped? What if...?

I am, but one voice

So, the G has decided to revert back teaching Science and Mathematics in Bahasa Melayu. As much as I love my own language, I have to disagree with this move. The idea to start teaching the two subjects in English was a wise one. The idea to go back to the old medium, not so smart.

They say we could melayukan the scientific and mathematical terms. But don't they realise that by doing that we will end up with a bastardise version of Bahasa Melayu? The beautiful language lose its authenticity just because we want to, initially, maintain or prolong its life.

Look what happen to old English, they finally reside in those "classic" novels and articles. Never used in day-to-day life.

I have to agree with Tun M in this matter. We are not the leader in the fields, thus we need to work harder. Just because you're learning science and mathematics in English, does not mean you lose your root and history. I am so sure I have blogged about this before.

How many more words should we include in our Kamus Dewan? I shall continue in Bahasa Melayu.

On HP again!

So, they say they replace the cooling fan. And they say they are confident that that the problem will not occur again.

When I asked them what assurance can they give to me since I'm not confident that the problem will not happen again, the Service Centre Supervisor just told me that the problem will not happen again. I requested for an extended warranty period as a proof that they are confident the problem is solved, the Supervisor just gave me a plain "NO".

No attempt at all to serve me, as the customer, better. No attempt to reassure me that I'm getting my moneys worth. The only thing that he said was that it is a good product (when I told him HP sold me a faulty unit) and that he has recommended the same model to a lot of his friends.

The only thing that I can conclude from this incident is that; since I'm just a nobody, a normal consumer, the company does not care whether I get a quality product or not. What disappoints me the most is that, not only they are not willing to replace the unit with a new one, they cannot even give me an extended 6 months warranty! I don't think that's too much to ask.

Well, I'm not confident if I log a complain to their website, anyone from the company will even read it! Come on, just another consumer venting her frustration right?

Malaysians has always been known to be courteous and helpful to foreign tourists/customers. I have a feeling if my name was Angeline Bordaine with blonde hair, blue eyes and milky white skin, I'd be getting what I requested for. Ha ha ha...

I CERTAINLY WILL NOT BUY HP PRODUCT EVER AGAIN.
HP Pavilion tx2032au Entertainment Notebook PC WILL BE MY LAST HP PRODUCT. AND I WILL MAKE IT MY PERSONAL MISSION TO RECOMMEND OTHER BRANDS TO MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. SERIOUSLY.

March 5, 2009

I will not buy HP again

I hate HP. I don't understand why they sell defective items. Yes, HP as in Hewlett-Packard. I bought their tablet laptop; HP Pavilion tx2000 some 6 months ago. All was great until November came, the laptop starts to act up. It starts to shutdown itself. Initially I thought maybe because it became too warm, but it's ridiculous when you've only switched it on for less than 5 minutes, and it just went bleep!

So, I sent to the service center some time in January, because December was a hectic month. I got it back some 3 weeks later, because of Chinese New Year holidays etc. Now, it's almost a month, and it's starting to misbehave again! The guy in the HP shop will definitely get an earful from me. Again.

The last time I sent it over, they told me it's because og the processor; AMD Athlon. Thus, they had to change the whole motherboard. So, my question at that time way, if you have to change the whole motherboard, why can't you change with a motherboard that is using a different processor than the type that you know is already defective? The guy said it's not possible, even when I offered to pay the difference.

I hope the laptop will be fixed before I start to travel. Dem. Maybe I should just write a complain letter to HP. But looking at Malaysian customer service, I doubt they will replace tha faulty laptop. I doubt it very much.

Bengong tau.

When Love Hurts... Physically

There will be times when our partner, that person that we love so much, overwhelms us to the point where we lose our cool. There will be times when we feel like strangling them just because the can't stop and listen to what we're saying. There will be times when we feel like pushing him or her into a ditch just because they are clingy. There will even be times when we'd think that we're better off without them than staying and feeling the pain they cause us to feel.

But, there should never be a time where we give in to that anger and frustration and smack those feelings into their faces. Never.

Although I, as a woman, feel strongly when a man hits a woman, I've got to say that it goes both ways. But, to what extend can a woman hit a man? I mean, we've got to admit that men have thicker skin and women are weaker when it comes to strength comparison, unless of course the woman is a trained combatant.

Come on. Hitting a woman? How low can a man go? Ev
en at your most impatient moment, you should turn around and held your breath, count to ten or hundred even. Never raise your hand to a woman. That is so uncalled for.

As we should never condone invasion into other people's land, cause mayhem and killing innocents, we should never ever say that Chris Brown (or any other man for that matter) has good reasons to beat the crap out of a woman. Shame on you.

ps: Whenever you feel like whacking your partner, take a deep breath, turn around and be apart for a while. If you really love that person as much as you believe you do, you'll regret the harsh words and can't ever forgive yourself for the harsh actions.

From My Mobile

See?

From My Mobile

Look at all these stupid people causing bottle neck on the road. They are creating their own tidal flow. Where are the authorities? This people, they think only they need to arrive early. Everyone thinks they are more important than others.

November 7, 2008

I see stupid people...

When I first woke up this morning, I have every nerve in my body ready to go to war. Ha ha ha... Long story short, some uncalled statement were made, and I spoke up against it. It resulted with chains of emotional responses from the other parties involved. And last night, it get to a stage where "enough is enough". Through it all, I only made myself heard, once.

However, out of God's love and merciful, someone close to me pour a bucket of ice to the fire and put a stop to it. And because of that I love her more than ever and I thank the Almighty for stopping me from doing something I might regret later.

Truth be told, the people who made the uncalled statement are not exactly the type of people that I hang out with. In fact, the reason why we're in contact is purely by chance. And since these people were the reminiscence of our lives a long time ago, I thought why the heck not to get in touch again.

We would expect as we grow older (ehem) we get more well, matured. Our words and our actions should be the epitome of who we are. Even so, no one person is perfect, therefore mistakes could happen. However, to actually be the same person you were twenty years ago, and a bad one at that... well.. I seriously don't have the words to describe my opinion.

I am doing my best not to be judgmental here. So pardon me if I slip.

The facts remain that even if you're earning six figures, speak French, travel the world, holidaying in Swiss and probably have one or two rumah agam (mansions), your standards will only rise based on your relationship with other people. Having all those luxury does not elevate your status and make you first class. At least not in my eyes.

Well... There you go, the slip.

Anyway, now that I think about it again, it's just hillarious. I mean, here we are, thirty year olds acting like kids in high school. So comical! After all that, I just want to say one thing. I don't need this kind of low class, narrow minded people in my life. They have never made any impact on me and neither will they be.

Ha ha ha...

I Do Yoga

This is a sore subject starting today. Suddenly the Fatwa Council decides that Yoga could deviate Muslims. Can I just point out that while I'm sweating myself in the gym doing Yoga, I can hear ocean waves and the sound of water flowing and the slow and mellow melody?

I'm starting to wonder what exactly the people in the council is doing. Do they perform any extensive research before they decide on something? Or are they just passing judgment based on hearsay?

But before I go ranting about this, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Probably what the Yoga practice that they are referring to is the one which is accompanied by certain chants or mantra. The Yoga that is being practiced in the gyms are not the target here. If that's the case, then, I support their view.

Prior to the Yoga issue, they came out with a Fatwa against women dressing and behaving like men. The reason behind this is to discourage homosexuality. While I agree to that, where is the Fatwa against men dressing and behaving like women? Is this not a social situation that we are facing too?

With that, I shall stop here. There was another topic that I wanted to blog about, but shall have to wait for later now. Today is Thursday, and I believe I have a Yoga class later this evening... Hmm...

Datuk Jade, everyone!

"Owhh.. because he/she receives many international awards..."

"Making Malaysia well-known to the world..."

"Making Malaysia proud"

"The example of true Malaysia-Boleh spirit!"

"It's an accomplishment when you're being the leading lady/man in one of the most popular movie franchise in the world!"

"Because he/she advertise this so and so location... bringing more tourist in!"

So, we have heard a lot of reasons why certain so-and-so is awarded the "Datuk" title. This post might be a little out-dated with regards to the subject, but what the heck, eh? I wanted to post something when the news came out, but was too lazy to go on the net that day...

Anyway, what is the basis of this title actually?

I personally feel that people who are selfless are the ones who really deserves the title. Imagine the numbers of our soldiers who every now and then risking their lives to maintain peace. But we never hear a certain Ali or Muthu or Chong being given the title because he spent half a year in Bosnia or Timor Timor. Haih. I don't see any point why Shah Rukh Khan should get the title. He's done nothing for the country, for our people. He just strut himself around Malacca town singing and swaying. Malacca was just a background. No promotion whatsoever.

What about in the past? The title was given to Michelle Yeoh, Siti Nurhaliza, Sharifah Aini, and who else? I'm not saying that these people did nothing to contribute, but hey, I bet when Michelle Yeoh accepted the Bond girl part she never thought about how this will impact Malaysia. Besides, having all these artistes performing overseas have not exactly change the view of foreigners about Malaysia. A lot of them still do not know where Malaysia is. Some of them still think we're living in trees. So, where's the impact actually? What value have they given to people and country?

I have nothing against artistes and performers receiving award. Hey, if you deserve it, you should. I'm talking about these tradition giving out Datukship title as freely as these people can. Isn't there some kind of guidelines to be followed before someone is nominated to receive the award? If I'm not mistaken, these titles come with some kind of monetary gain as well, right? So, are these monies being spent wisely, considering? How do this help the people?

I'm sure this "tradition" will continue on. More people will get the title just because. Some will be the ones who actually deserve it. Some would just enjoy it for no reason at all.

Shah Rukh Khan was not thinking of helping Malacca when he decided to shoot the scene there. Just so happen the location suited his purposes at that time.

So, go figure lah.

ps: Oi! I am spending my time to ensure the country will be better equipped to help the nation. Don't I deserve a Datukship as well?

I'm Pissed. I'm Bored. I'm Hungry.

Time is running out. I think we're deluding ourselves if we keep thinking that technology will continue, and not just die away. Might be, in one year time, there will be no more internet and blogging, and all transportation will just cease to move. What will happen then?

There's energy crisis going on in the world these days. But what are our wakil rakyat and politicians doing about it? What they prefer to do apparently, is behaving worse than school children in the Parliament, and politicians attacking one another non stop. What is this? Are Malaysian politicians so STUPID that they do nothing else but bicker amongst themselves?

I really loathe what I read in the news these days. As if there's nothing more important than to govern the country. Look, the election has passed, and everyone has won what seats they deserved. Why can't these stupid politicians just move on and do their jobs? Instead of doing rallies to garner support and hate the government more? Instead of creating more dramas and high profile cases? WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO SERIOUSLY START WORK?

Can someone just bloody shoot all these politicians already? Maybe I shouldn't say that, but, apparently we have elected idiots to fight our cause! I don't give a rat arse shit what political parties these people belong to. What I want to see is a better life for the people. What the FUCK are they thinking? Stupid fat arses. What they only want is to be in the spotlight, and making money from the tax that we're paying. To all the MPs, BN or otherwise, shut up already and start working! You all who are sitting in your thousand Ringgit suits in the parliament seats, you are all our bloody servants! Your fat arses and your equivalent fat arses spouses are being paid by us. Haven't you realised that? Tak malu ke? Have you no shame at all? Don't mention dignity, you don't have it at all.

Stupid fuckers. I'm bloody pissed! I have never written this way before. But this is just fucking too much! Stupid bloody fuckers. Do your bloody job already! Raise our purchasing power. You know what, maybe we should do the election all over again. And this time, none of you people who are currently sitting there, will get the seats. Let's opt for all calon bebas this time. Maybe these non-political party people can do something. Hey, why not let the bloggers govern the country now? We seem to see things better than the lot of you. But then again, maybe, once we're in power, we'll set C4 on someone, or another person will poke someone else's behind.

Bloody hell. The country is going down the toilet. And you fat arses fuckers are not making things better. Stop fighting to be the PM already. Start making things better. Bloody idiots.

UPDATED: At 3:40pm, I am calmer. And I smiled when I read back what I wrote. I still stand by what I wrote. The politicians and MPs are still fat arse idiots. I'm just sorry for the F word that I used excessively. Believe me, I don't swear, but it was just the last straw today. I hate seeing what's happening to my country. Will it be better to live uncomfortable life at foreign lands, but having our people really work together? I don't know. I hope for better days for Malaysia and for us the people. I wish that the economic downturn this time around won't affect us badly. We managed to sail through 10 years ago, I hope we'll sail through again. And to those of you who are fanatical about your chosen politicians, maybe you should smell the roses, and you'd realise their farts are not as sweet smelling as you thought in the first place. No one politician is BERSIH when one is politician.

Suka Jadi Katak?

"Berhati2 - Tomyam Set Mengandungi Bahan Babi"

That's the title of the email forwarded from my best friend. To quote her; "tak reti baca ke?" ("don't know how to read is it?" - ha ha ha... direct translation)

Anyway, I looked at the attached photo. And true enough, pork is mentioned under "Directions" not Ingredients". It's just a suggestion on how to use the tom yum paste.

To the original sender of this email, the one who painstakingly took time to snap several pictures of the product, I would like to advise, the next time you see the word "pork", look again. Read twice, thrice, four, ten even hundred times to get it right. Not everyone is gifted
with photographic memory, as such our what we see need to be confirmed.

Yes, I'm being sarcastic. I'm just fed up with the trend of our people who likes to jump every time they see the word "Pork", or when discussing certain issue, immediately point their fingers to women, falsely reporting on documents; etc. Suka benor melompat eh?

Anyway, below I attach one of the images captured. Look closely where the word "pork" came in.

Bottom line, if you're really concerned and particular, go for the Halal logo by Jakim and its approved counterparts (this product has a halal stamping in jawi). Okay?

--------------------------------------

So, today I received my first assignment. I actually asked for it. And the boss looked at me as if asking "are you sure?". I guess he took my smiley face as a yes and later he gave me a list of things to do. Hah! Padan muka! Should be an interesting day tomorrow.

When I first came for the job interview, I thought that it would be an easy thing to actually get the place. Today it actually dawned to me (yes, I am THAT slow) that I could have failed to secure a spot. One thing, the number of people is not that big, and the empty slots are only 3. Secondly, I am the only female in the company besides the office admin cum receptionist girl. Not sure if there's a gender bias issue or it simply is. Next, it's not exactly an employee market these days, so possibilities to jump around is quite slim. And finally, the skills... Out of three main skills, I'm only well versed in two. So, I guess Allah's blessings were on me the day I came to the interview. Thinking over, it makes me get goose bumps.

My friends in Pudica are having uncertain times now. They are frankly being torn apart (sounds so dramatic, eh?). Well, it is dramatic. These people has given ten years of their lives to the company, building the repo and presence, and suddenly being asked to settle into new environment. That's a soft way of putting it. To speak plain and direct, they are being disposed. Even though it seems now the move will only be temporary for knowledge transfer purposes, things will never be the same. All of them are already comfortable there, they have family, commitments and mouths to feed. This is of course a trying time. A lot of things need to be considered if they want to quit. Sometimes, I wonder how an employer can treat their employees this way. We are the casualties of capitalism. Although in Pudica case it's not in the form of monetary profit. The direction has changed.

I read in The Star today, drawing contributions from our younger generation, aged 7 to 12. These kids are all into fun environment and free stuff! Such innocence. I hate the fact that it will soon be contaminated by the reality and truth of living once they start to earn their first ringgit. Nothing is free, darlings. You have to pay for clean air even these days!

That brings me to the next topic. Clean air. This building that I'm working in, it's a giant chimney. Tenants smoke indiscriminately. Well, they don't do it in the hallway, but at the stairwell. And since the washroom on my floor is being renovated, I need to use the staircase to go the upper floor. And guess what, I have to held my breath and run all the way. My hair will smell awful by end of the day. My shirt, haih, it's as if, I'm a smoker! Dem. The building management should do something about it. But alas, I think this situation has been going on for years, just like the toilet paper robbery in the washroom. And don't get me started on that!

Okay, enough venting for today. Back to work!
