From My Mobile

It's raining. I suddenly have this urge to go and dance under the weeping sky...

Boredom...

Three and a half more hours to go before I can call it a day. Today seems very draggy for me. The hours could not pass by faster.

This is what happens when you start the week lazily. At least, for me. If my Monday is screwed, the rest of the week is just as bad. I know it's more mental set than anything else. And on Monday, I knew I could beat the blues like every other Monday, but I just chose not to. Thus, a lazy boring week.

About a week ago I decided to stop going to my guitar classes. CapalPerak advised against it. He said I should be doing something different. Besides, that is what I've kept on wanting to do. Something different. Even so, I was adamant not to continue. But, when the teacher called last Thursday to tell me that he had to cancel the class that night, I felt differently.

So yesterday, I went to the class with a renewed motivation. :-) I bought a new pick! White colour this time. Ha ha ha. I could say I'm a pick collector now! Who else would want to have more than one RM2 pick! There was this pick with skeleton design on it, looked awesome. Maybe next time.

Maybe I'm not as crazy I thought I am. There is a Wikipedia entry just for picks!

Mood: I'm feeling "Blah"...

Hmm...

I bought a book today. I decided to read the Forewords, something I rarely did before. Halfway through reading it, I felt cheated and had this urge to throw away the book. I decided to skip to the Introductions by the author herself.

Upon reading it, I suddenly realised how ignorant I had been when the book was suggested by my dear Sarcy. I started to read Chapter 1. I decided to continue reading simply because I want to understand why the author became who she is today. I SMSed Sarcy and told her my first instinct. While writing this post, I received her reply that reminded me of what she told me when we met during dinner last Sunday. I have to read the book with an open mind.

The book, my friends, is Infidel. Written by one Aayan Hirsi Ali.

And then I read the latest post by Dr. Asri. If the Malaysian religious authority is not careful, we might just have more aayans out there very, very soon.

So, I will read the book, until the end. What pains me is when I read this on Ms Hirsi Wikipedia page:

At the Sydney Writers' Festival in June 2007, she balanced her arguments, saying "I am a Muslim" because she understood why Muslims were silent when the Qur'an was "invoked to behead captured aid workers, journalists and other Western wanderers," as silence is "better than an argument with the author of the Holy Book who has given the command to behead infidels." Hirsi Ali stated that she was also "not a Muslim" as she had lost the fear of the Qur'an and of Hell and lost respect for "its author" and messenger; ..."

As well as her thoughts on the Palestinian vs Israel issue.

But I'm still reading the book, although I have an idea what made her be her. :-)

I'm looking for colours. You know. For the occasion. I have some ideas. But I want to make sure it's really the shade that I like. Men would think it's not important. But what do they know, eh?

So, I googled and surfed and hopped around the cyber universe. And I came across this: COLOURlovers. What a great way to start! It could be overwhelming as there are a lot of colours and ideas. But, nothing is too much for such, kan?

Colour combinations. Pallette. Aaahhh... It's stressful.. planning... But the colours just makes you want to smile all day long.

I don't drink COKE

I watched the Golden Globe Awards re-run last night. Just a bit. There was no mention about the Palestinians plight, the invasion that is going on, no emotional announcement or heartfelt call for a moment of silence for the suffering, blood and tears. Nothing. In fact, they awarded the Israelis with the Best Foreign Film category.

Well, it was not unexpected. America, after all is one of Israel's best friends. I see the award as an indirect way of saying they support the terrorism upon the Palestinians.

How sad.

Coming back to Malaysia where there are calls to boycott American products which are directly or indirectly contributing to Israel. I see this act as a voice of protest. Some people say it's a futile act where no change will emit from it. Some say it's ridiculous because it means, we should stop using the computer altogether because it comes from America! We should not use our cars because some parts come from there!

Come on people. Why so stupid?

The question is, what can you do without? Coca Cola. Cigarettes. Jack Daniels. American potato chips (they cost too much anyway). And yes, McDonalds. And everything else that you can live without.

We admit that our lives are pretty much swimming around Western products and there is nothing we can do about it until we, the Easterners, DO something about it. Why do you think Tun Mahathir made the call Pandang ke Timur long time ago? He wanted us to get use to using our people's products so we won't rely on the Americans and Europeans. But did we listen to him? Or did we mock him?

Remember, God won't change our destiny if we don't do something to change it ourselves. The product boycott might not change anything. It might be a personal choice like what the DPM is saying. But it's a sign. A HUGE statement that we can live without the US of A. We can do without them. And we, the people of the WORLD are against their actions. THAT is what we are saying. THAT is what we are telling.

An Excerpt from Minda Mufti

Quoting Ustaz Asri of Minda Mufti:

"Islam is a fair religion. Islam never teaches Muslims that non-Muslims are their enemies. The protest against violence is also carried out by non-Muslims. The Muslims only go to war against the people who declares war against the Muslims; whether the animosity is based on hatred for the religion or just because they want to terrorize other people.

Islam does not accept and oppose violence wherever it is committed. Whether on Muslims or non-Muslims, on humans or animals, even to the environment. We Muslims protest against the violence committed to our brothers and sisters in faith in Palestine in the name of Islam and humanity. Other people (the non-Muslims) protest in the name of humanity.

If violence are committed against the non-Muslims, we, the Muslims, will still protest the act in the name of Islam and humanity. This is because, the Islamic principles include the humanity principles. Therefore if none protest against this act of terror and violence, the person has neither the Islamic principles nor the humanity principles."

"Islam bersikap adil.

Say "NO!" and "TAK NAK!" to War & Violence!

Have you seen the front page of The Star today? In case you haven't...

The picture is small, I know, but I couldn't find a bigger one quickly. It's a picture of a Muslim woman, a strong and very brave Muslim woman, standing in front of three armed Israelis soldiers protesting the invasion. I salute you sister, may Allah reward you with Al-Jannah.

I cannot look at another war picture. I cannot see another dead child. I cannot see another body with blood splattering all over. The picture of a father crying beside his three dead small children was enough to break any human's heart. And if you did not feel a thing, you are better off dead yourself.

Do your part. Any small part that you can. However little the difference it makes to the world. But at least we did something. May Allah take our fallen brothers, sisters and children in Gaza into His majestic palace. May He restore our faith and honour towards our beautiful religion. May mercy be bestowed upon those whose hearts are cold and hard. May the Light be shone upon us forevermore.

Love and Peace. It's not so much to ask.

Quicks

I was looking at my nuffnang account and look what I found...

I laughed looking at highest keyword search that was linked to my blog. :-p As far as I can remember I never put any such dua. Maybe it linked to the word jodoh, who knows, kan?

Today at work, we received some good news. The company has came out with our dental plan and glasses plan. I'm happy! As soon as the details come out, I'm gonna see the dentist! I cannot remember the last time I went to a dentist... Hmm... These two things are amongst the things I requested for during the interview. Alhamdulillah, eventhough it takes time to materialise, it's finally happening!

CapalPerak is going for company trip this weekend. Have fun, dear. Jangan naughty2! Ha ha ha...

I have a friend, who also happens to be my best friend. She is always complaining how dull her life is. She said there is nothing exciting that she could look forward to. I try to get her to be involved in my activities or plans whenever I can. But the problem is, she never wants to join! And then she laments again about the boringness and dullness. What am I to do?

The Ducks are moving...

I can do this! I can NOT eat so much! I can go to the gym constantly like I used to! I can and I will!

Ehehehe.. this is my on going attempt to ensure that I get back to the shape that I was before. I am not pressed to be sticky thin, I just want to feel good about myself. And when I feel good about myself, nothing else matters! Besides, there is the motivation to look good in whatever it is that I am wearing. And I seriously want to get into my beaded jeans again! I miss that jeans!

Dakwanie proposed a very interesting idea about 30 minutes ago. I don't really have to mull over it as I have been thinking about it for some time, but never know if i can really make it happen. Yeah, the chicken in me. But I'm sure this can happen and it will! We just probably have to get one or two other clan members to join in. Just in case lah.

We shall see.

By the way, I love that my PC is very speedy now!

No Rush Ler...

It's the fifth day in 2009. The eight day of Muharram 1430H.

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Life goes back to the old routine. Wake up in the morning, going to work, being busy, wait anxiously for the work day to end, a trip to the gym and finally the nightly visits to la-la land.

If anyone were to ask me how does it feel to be someone's fiancée, my answer would be... not much difference! Except for the part where my fingers are not bare anymore. :-p And probably my blog will become duller than ever!

Some people are telling us that the engagement period is a tad too long while others are saying there's hardly enough time to plan for the wedding. And Jade being Jade, these voices are taken with pinches of salt. Not to disregard, just as guides lah... You cannot satisfy everyone, so you might as well satisfy yourself and make yourself happy.

Just ponder on it for a while if you may. When you're single, people ask you when are you going to get a boyfriend or girlfriend. When you're a couple people ask you when you're going to be engaged. Once you're engaged they ask you why wait so long to get married. Once you're married they start asking if you have a bun in the oven already. Like duh kan? It will never end.

Although these people meant well, you have got to know how to pace yourself and not be rushed by what's happening around you. Take your time. I know I took my time to get on the train of marital bliss, but that's only because the coaches before did not make me happier than I was when I was on my own. Now that it has changed, Alhamdulillah, we have taken the next step. I am nervous, yes, but I am also happier. :-)

There is nothing wrong with waiting for the right one. Or the right moment. What's important is that you're happy and the other person makes you happier. Wait for it.
